Here at Eastwood we have a threefold mission (the reason we exist as a church)…

Our purpose is established in the great commandment and the great commission, given by Christ during His ministry on earth.

A lawyer once asked Jesus a question… “Master, which is the great commandment in the law?”
Jesus said unto him, “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.” According to Jesus’ words, if we love God with all our being and if we love people, then we would do no wrong. We would do only things pleasing to God which would only be right things (thus fulfilling the law). Here at Eastwood we are dedicated to helping everyone personally fulfill this life purpose of loving God and loving people.

THE GREAT COMMISSION: Matthew 28:18-20

The last thing that Jesus did on this earth was to give some very clear instructions to His disciples… Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, “All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” We believe that this commission still stands today, handed down from disciple to disciple, generation to generation, and will stand until the Lord’s return. Anyone who receives Christ as their Savior is commissioned to share the “Good News” with others. Therefore, as a fellowship of believers we will be dedicated to continuing and contributing to this great work.
